Race
Against the Machine: How the Digital Revolution is Accelerating Innovation,
Driving Productivity, and Irreversibly Transforming Employment and the Economy was an excellent read. I would recommend
this book to anyone who is interested in learning about information technology
and how it is affecting our current job situation. The main thesis the authors
discuss is how technology is accelerating and in turn producing a net job loss.
This
book is divided into five chapters. It starts off with describing how
technology influences the economy and how advanced technology is responsible
for some disappearing jobs. The last two chapters focus on how to fix this
issue and include some information about how technology isn’t a complete
negative in today’s society.
